I am Ekaterina Sidonskaya, Mag. Dr. – a visual artist & photographer based in Vienna.
My background
With a background in science and a deep love for aesthetics, I explore visual storytelling through light, texture, and quiet observation.
My focus
I specialize in artistic food photography, poetic still lifes, nature impressions, and concept-driven visuals.
Many of my works are entirely handmade — I cook the food, style the scene, create paper-cut elements, and even grow my own garden to bring the image to life.

My inspiration
After an intense period in science, I consciously chose the artistic path to give space to my perception — and to explore themes like mindfulness, empathy and mental health through visual language.
My inspiration often comes from silence, early morning light and the beauty of impermanence. I approach photography like painting — with patience, intuition, and curiosity.
I see the camera as a tool to make the invisible visible: light, stillness, inner states, and our connection to nature. Most of my images are taken in natural light, often in the early hours of the day, when the world is still quiet.
